Cornish History Network

The Rescorla Centre is home to the Cornish History Network (CHN). Our aim is to bring together amateur and professional historians through a programme of seminars, lectures, heritage walks and workshops. We are also working on plans for a series of book and DVD publications exploring the archaeology, history and literature of Cornwall and its communities.

At a local level the CHN seeks to continue the educational work of the Rescorla Heritage Project. This community-based programme, which was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has sought to explore the Clay Country’s cultural heritage through oral history interviews, research and a series of events. We've chosen a few of the film and audio clips, photographs and other findings gathered by the project in 2008. We hope these will provide a flavour of the Clay Country, exploring the history of the landscape, the industry and its impact, and life outside work. You can view the findings of the project here.
